My Story
Hello! My name is Kristie. I began my journey as a daughter and sister, later transitioning into the roles of wife and mother. As my children matured, I pursued a career as a Registered Nurse, specializing in hospice care for more than 12 years. My role as a caregiver for my parents began when my father started displaying symptoms of cognitive decline. However, my circumstances took a different turn after my father's passing, and now I solely focus on providing care for my mother.
I derive great pleasure from engaging in various hobbies, such as singing and playing the piano in worship. Additionally,
I have a deep passion for designing and creating commemorative presents for individuals who have recently experienced the loss of their dear ones.
Our Boxes
The vision was born when I was doing a safety assessment for a friend. Her mother-in-law was struggling with progressive dementia. She said she was struggling with activities to do with her. It struck me, we have toys and activities for children in our homes. We keep them in a toy box. Grownups need their own "toy-boxes". It reminded me of all the activities that I created and bought online to keep my father engaged. I wanted to share my ideas with others. That's when Cardinal Box was born.
Our Community
Caregiving is a path unlike any other. I believe unless you have walked the path, it is difficult to understand the roller coaster of the journey. The exhaustion, the isolation, the moments of joy, the simple rewards, the monotony of tasks, times of hopelessness.
